Founded in 1965 by the Bi-States Company, KSNB started as KHTL-TV in Superior, Nebraska. Bi-States already operated the Nebraska Television Network, and the idea behind the station was to expand TV service and bring NTV programming to more people in south-central Nebraska and nearby areas. The station later changed its call letters to KSNB-TV in 1974. Today, KSNB is owned by Gray Media, a company that operates many local TV stations across the United States. Today, KSNB Local4 covers local and regional news in Nebraska, including weather, sports, politics, crime, health, business, community events, entertainment, and local history. Its news operation is based in Hastings, Nebraska, and the station serves viewers across central Nebraska, including communities like Hastings, Grand Island, and surrounding areas. One interesting fact: KSNB was not always known as KSNB Local4. It began with a different name, KHTL-TV, and over the years it has gone through major changes in branding, ownership, and network affiliation before becoming the NBC-focused Local4 station many Nebraskans know today.
