Founded in 1961 by the Lebanese government through the Ministry of Information, NNA-Leb, also known as Lebanon’s National News Agency, was created as the country’s official public news agency. Unlike a private news company started by one entrepreneur, NNA was formed as a government service to collect news from across Lebanon and share it with the public, media outlets, and official institutions. Today, it is still owned and operated by the Lebanese state under the Ministry of Information. Today, NNA-Leb covers a wide range of news, including politics, government announcements, local news, security updates, economy, sports, culture, entertainment, health, education, and international news. It is based in Beirut, Lebanon, and its main role is to report on national events, official statements, and developments from different regions of the country. One interesting fact: NNA-Leb is not just a regular news website. It is Lebanon’s official national news agency, which means many newspapers, TV stations, and websites use its reports as a starting point for their own coverage.
