Almost everything we rely on is made from plastic. Perhaps it’s time for the nation to launch a campaign encouraging coffee lovers to bring their own mugs, or restaurants to carry reusable straws. Supermarket shoppers could also be urged to use canvas bags instead of plastic ones. To promote this shift, citizens could be given incentives, like earning points or rewards, for bringing their own reusable items.Read Less

They are pretty harmful for the environment but I don’t believe it’s possible to ban them entirely.
They very much should, even if it is not the most impactful policy, steps must be taken
