Despite cryptocurrencies becoming increasingly popular, using them to purchase goods is rarely an option. In order for cryptocurrencies to fully replace traditional currencies, people need to view them as an actual currency and not a "get-rich-quick stock" to short. While currencies like Bitcoin have been hitting all-time highs recently, the mindset shift has not happened, and I don't see it happening in the future. However, ultimately, I am not super knowledgeable on the subject. I look forward to seeing other comments from people who may be a little more informed about crypto.  Less

Obviously, I only saw these signs while drooling at window displays, filled with garments I couldn’t afford.  Less

Currency has always changed throughout history, especially with newer inventions. Its crazy to think that now days we can have our phones act as credit cards, when they were only invented less than 100 years ago. And before that people only used paper money or checks. Things have changed to more digital and I believe it will continue to change. The only reason I do not believe it will happen soon is because crypto is currently on the more expensive side, can be confusing, and there is so many different types.  Less

I believe it is very unlikely that cryptocurrencies will fully replace traditional currency, but I think they may coexist or become more integrated together in our financial systems. I do not think that crypto will replace our traditional currency. I think crypto might change the way we think about money, due to how cryptocurrencies are highly volatile which makes them risky for daily usage.  Less

While Bitcoin in now a $100,000+ dollar stock, you still dont see any signs of an impending mass adoption of crypto. For example I cant just walk into Walmart and buy groceries with Bitcoin. This is a really interesting topic, where on one hand, crypto has exploded in relevance and value, yet there have not been any signs of mass adoption.  Less

Not unless we live in a tech billionaire hellscape, which is looking increasingly likely unfortunately.

I think it will become increasingly popular and government officials may try to replace cash, however, I don't think it will be widely accepted by the people and small businesses.

If that changes, I can see cryptocurrency becoming more popular. I also think that while the USA remains a global superpower, its unlikely it will replace debit cards and Apple Pay. All things considered, we have a pretty non-cosmopolitan population and certainly do not have the government mobilization capacities to put that kind of tech/education into people’s hands (unlike other countries). So I don’t think we will see a super strong swing in that direction for a while.  Less
