There have been many discussions and finger-pointing at Democrats that have led to the current government shutdown. First and foremost, the title of the news article blames Democrats and states that they chose the shutdown to begin with. Throughout the media, there have been politicians such as JD Vance who have used false claims to pin blame on a political party. This being that radical leftist ideas are being spread, and "billions of dollars are going towards funding healthcare for undocumented immigrants, which is all untrue. Democrats have been withholding Senate votes due to expiring healthcare subsidies, and thus stopping the funding of the government. This can be seen in two ways: many people blamed both Democrats and Republicans. Although using false claims does harm this discourse.
