Many of the countries that contribute to the excessive use of nonrenewable energy now rely on these resources, as does the rest of the world. Our reliance on the resources of the past has enriched powerful factions of people across the globe; look at the US’ recent invasion of Venezuela for self-proclaimed oil resources. Many of the factors driving global finance and national economies depend on specific nonrenewable resources; turning back the clock on this would be extremely difficult. Read Less

    While I do believe that countries should individually establish renewable energy sources and possibly make alliances with other countries around them to share resources (such as through regional trade …Read MoreWhile I do believe that countries should individually establish renewable energy sources and possibly make alliances with other countries around them to share resources (such as through regional trade agreements), I do not necessarily agree that this should be a fully centralized “global network”. Differences in infrastructure, economic capacity, political priorities, and energy needs make it difficult to implement a one-size-fits-all system. So, I think that it would be more realistic and effecitve if countires (initially) took a regional based approach or first make aggreements with countires they are aligned with before creating a more centralized system. Read Less
