Legislating spaces like these seems like an individual matter to me, belonging to each country so that they can tailor their efforts to the needs of their spaces. I could see some kind of international incentive system for protecting these spaces being less invasive and more beneficial on multiple fronts.

    That said, I could be convinced otherwise if someone who knows more about the state of biodiversity and the impact protecting/not-protecting these spaces would have were to speak on it and explain the benefits of this kind of policy. Read Less

    I agree that implementation of this would be tough without risking autonomy of individual nations, but I do support protection for greenspaces overall.
