Privacy is an absolutely important thing in terms of basic human rights and the unsupervised collection of data has been a prominent element in terms of identity theft and fraud. And with so much of our daily lives revolving around technology, people are becoming increasingly more vulnerable to having their personal information and data hacked and stolen by complete strangers. Companies can already gain a lot of information from people through signing up for things, buying things, or using a website. This allows for stuff like robo/spam calls and seeing ads for things that were previously searched. People are annoyed with the robo/spam calls as there are so many calls, so a cap could help end the volume of such calls.
