If by personal data you mean home address, relationships, etc. then yes that should be restricted. But if by personal data you mean what plane tickets they've bought, extremists websites they've visited and whatnot, then no. The government should be able to track and monitor individuals suspected of terrorism for example.  Less

Privacy is an absolutely important thing in terms of basic human rights and the unsupervised collection of data has been a prominent element in terms of identity theft and fraud. And with so much of our daily lives revolving around technology, people are becoming increasingly more vulnerable to having their personal information and data hacked and stolen by complete strangers. So, in order to greatly limit this possibility from happening, I feel there should be a cap on the amount of personal data companies collect from individuals.  Less

Companies can already gain a lot of information from people through signing up for things, buying things, or using a website. This allows for stuff like robo/spam calls and seeing ads for things that were previously searched. People are annoyed with the robo/spam calls as there are so many calls, so a cap could help end the volume of such calls. This follows with other topics with a cap it helps to not infringe on people's privacy and not allowing to much information onto the internet.  Less

I absolutely think there should be - there needs to be more protections for consumers' privacy.
