Cape Town ETC exists in two forms that serve different readers. The print magazine is a visitor's guide to the Western Cape, published three times a year in February, June and October in a run of 11,500 copies, distributed to rooms and foyers in more than 200 hotels, game reserves and tourist centres, to the lounges at Cape Town, Tambo and Lanseria airports, and onto Emirates flights from Dubai and Lufthansa flights from Munich. The website is the opposite: locally focused, aimed at a largely Capetonian and female-first readership, mixing custom-written online content with long-form pieces from the magazine. Both are published by Highbury Media, part of Highbury Safika Media, one of the largest independent magazine publishers in Southern Africa, with more than 30 titles across sport, lifestyle and business. Today, Cape Town ETC is mainly focused on Cape Town city news and community stories, what's on and events, food and drink, arts and culture, travel and the outdoors, motoring, competitions and best-of guides, from their base in Cape Town, South Africa. One interesting fact: The magazine and the website are aimed at opposite audiences. The print edition is written for international visitors about to arrive in the Western Cape, while the site is written for the Capetonians who already live there, and the two share a masthead and a newsroom.
CapeTown ETC is ranked 4,456 among other media sources and has an average of 799,300 monthly visits according to
