They launched the station as the area’s NBC affiliate before eventually switching to ABC. Today, the station is still proudly owned and operated by the Wray family (KTBS, LLC). Today, KTBS (Channel 3) is run by a dedicated team of local reporters and meteorologists and is mainly focused on breaking local news, severe weather tracking, community events, and sports (with heavy coverage of LSU, the New Orleans Saints, and the Dallas Cowboys). They are based in Shreveport, Louisiana, and serve the "ArkLaTex" region, which includes viewers in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. One interesting fact: A unique fact about KTBS is that it is one of the few remaining family-owned television stations in the United States.
