The Delta News is the shared news brand of four broadcast streams serving the Mississippi Delta from a single Greenville newsroom. The oldest is WABG-TV, which signed on from Greenwood on 20 October 1959 under Bahakel ownership and was the only station serving the Delta until 1972. WNBD-LD followed in December 2010 and WXVT-LD in 2017, succeeding the WXVT that had run since 1980. Ownership has changed hands repeatedly: Commonwealth Broadcasting Group, then Cala Broadcast Partners in a 2015 deal valued at $11.7 million, then Northwest Broadcasting, then Cox Media Group, which sold the Greenville stations in August 2022 to INSP LLC alongside seventeen other small-market stations. In April 2025 INSP's Imagicomm subsidiary agreed to sell them to Deltavision Media, run by Webb Collums, whose family has a long media history in southwest Mississippi. The FCC waived its top-four ownership prohibition for the market and the sale closed that year. Today, The Delta News is mainly focused on city councils and boards of aldermen across Greenville, Indianola, Cleveland and Greenwood, crime and courts, schools, health care access, severe weather, and state politics, from their base in Greenville, Mississippi. One interesting fact: two of its stations appeared as themselves in the 2015 TruTV reality series Breaking Greenville, which followed the newsroom's own staff.
