The proof that they provided, being the signs that protesters were holding up, did not in the slightest point to the murder of Trump. One photo that they provided was of a papier-mache guitar with the phrase "This machine kills fascists." I can see how this phrase could be misconstrued and twisted to "leftists calling for the murder of Trump," but the phrase is written on a guitar. Music has long been used as a political tool for many artists to speak on historical injustices. Overall, the author of this article was taking many of the posters out of context to fit their agenda.  Less

I agree that this title is inherently very misleading. It has been done so to get a reaction out of the audience, and something so drastic as to call for the murder of the current president is a great way to do that. Your analysis is one I entirely agree with, even if I do not agree with the protests themselves. Thank you!  Less
