Mamdani’s Rise Signals The Islamic Revolution Remaking The United States

Why Troubling News:

This article is troubling because it paints with a broad brush, using only Zohan Mamdani's popularity as evidence of an Islamic Revolution in America. The author ignores the effects of immigration and the geopolitical complexity of this issue; thus, no supporting evidence is provided proving that there will be an "Islamic Revolution." The article conveniently does not explore the destabilization of many Islamic nations in the last fifty years due to the United States and its wars in the Middle East, which have driven many people of Islamic origin to emigrate from their home countries. Additionally, there were many Chinatowns, Little Italys, and other ethnic communities in large American cities since the late 19th century, discrediting the argument that masses of Islamic citizens will lead to a revolution. This article does not attack Mamdani's political points, which could be easily critiqued, and instead incoprporates identity politics, something the right has opposed in the past.
