It is a worrying trend that criticisms of Trump are taken as a direct political argument instead of fact- and research-based (i.e. trained and experienced economists). His administration seems to accuse critics of political attacks even when they have factual evidence. An example is before the election where the Goldman-Sachs analysts provided positive commentary on Kamala Harris’ economic plan, but gave negative thoughts about Trump’s plan. Trump took it as a political threat, and he likened Harris’ plan to Bidens’, claiming she (essentially) had no idea what she was talking about. I feel that these stories would be vastly different if the critics agreed with Trump, and it wouldn’t be political. Read Less
