VLAD’S LIES Macron ‘cocaine’ conspiracy debunked after false claims spread by Russia he ‘hid drugs bag’ while meeting Merz & Starmer
Why Troubling News:
A recent Kremlin-backed conspiracy falsely claimed that French President Emmanuel Macron was hiding a bag of cocaine during a train trip with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The theory circulated on social media after a video showed Macron handling a small white object that was later confirmed to be a tissue, while Merz held a coffee stirrer, not a spoon. The French and German governments, along with Ukraine’s disinformation watchdog, debunked the claim, calling it a politically motivated hoax designed to sow distrust and undermine Western unity.
