Learning a language, especially in the American Southwest, where there is a large Spanish-speaking population, is essential. Spanish should be a required language, as its history is deeply embedded in both North and South America. It should not be lost; instead, it should be implemented from kindergarten onward. By the time students reach high school, if they wish to take a different language, they will have already developed the skills and sharpness needed to succeed in language learning.Read Less
