However, if I must choose among the options, I would answer ‘No’ at this stage. I understand the concerns regarding potential harm to unknown extraterrestrial environments. However, humans currently lack sufficient knowledge about outer space to define clearly what constitutes actual harm. In other words, a “code of ethics” depends heavily on context and shared understanding. Because we do not yet possess enough scientific and conceptual clarity to design meaningful regulations, I would say no for now, while remaining open to a possible yes in the future. Less
