However, if I must choose among the options, I would answer ‘No’ at this stage. I understand the concerns regarding potential harm to unknown extraterrestrial environments. However, humans currently lack sufficient knowledge about outer space to define clearly what constitutes actual harm. In other words, a “code of ethics” depends heavily on context and shared understanding. Because we do not yet possess enough scientific and conceptual clarity to design meaningful regulations, I would say no for now, while remaining open to a possible yes in the future. Read Less

However, I think that at this stage, an international code of ethics for conducting scientific research in outer space is needed. Currently, tools and technoloies are still not sufficiently developed enough for space research to be widely accessible or commercially viable. Read Less
