Their vote indeed does matter, and when voting, they make sure one’s goals align correctly with their interests so that they may choose the appropriate candidate. Today, political engagement is a huge popularity contest, and the gross spread of misinformation by the masses creates a follow-the-leader effect. We all know that a handful of people within our friend groups or social media are choosing candidates for the wrong reasons. Creating dialogue in schools that doesn’t even necessarily gravitate around grades, but creates an interesting learning environment, can be a great way to encourage political conversation.
