Some may also find it ‘unfair,’ as some nations invested heavily in order to make the satellites and space exploration data possible in the first place.

    The issue has enough moving parts that I do not have a strong opinion on what the right answer is in my eyes. Read Less

In addition, like CalmMagpie1 said this data could also be used negatively for surveillance and other issues such as invasion. There are many possibilities as to what could happen regarding this issue. Read Less

    No, the countries that send the missions have the right to not share their data. This data could be used by other states for nefarious purposes.

I’m not sure I feel very passionately either way. In principle, I feel like it is wrong to treat information on space as a bargaining chip or individual state assets when the whole of space is communal, and what happens there affects everyone. However, practically, as other commenters mentioned, there are a handful of states (the U.S. included, honestly) that would not use all of this information to the benefit of everyone. So, I’m inclined to say no, but I would have to look into it more deeply. Read Less
