I do believe that under certain situations, a security risk should mean that the government can take limited actions to protect others. This is why I believe that warrants are so important. If the government can prove without a doubt that a dangerous individual is planning an attack or has already committed an attack, then they should be granted a warrant to go through their phone, social media, and be able to track their location. However, I also believe that safeguards need to be in place to prevent the government from going through everyone’s information and privacy. I believe that to achieve the best balance we need to have judges that can impartially rule whether the government has enough just cause to take certain actions that limit a citizen’s privacy.
