A political ad should be about what a certain candidate supports. They should not slander of defame their opponents. Regulating campaigns would help to ensure that all Americans are educated enough to make an informed decision about who to support. Advertising has become too negative in recent years.  Less

One significant purpose of these ads is educating people about candidates and helping them decide who to vote for. Therefore, they need to be completely factual so that voters know who they want to support.  Less

Regulating certain material would create a slippery slope and could potentially make the situation more rather than less unfair. There would also probably be methods for certain figures to ignore the regulations and publish whatever content they choose.  Less

There's no need. A candidate's true intentions and ambitions are displayed in how they advertise themselves and perceive their opponents.
