I think they should be moderately involved. The job of the government is to set the ground-rules and to make sure companies respect these rules. The job of the government is to set the ground-rules and to make sure companies respect these rules. More importantly, the government must be on the lookout for any activities from these companies that harms citizens, like privacy breaches, unfair wages, irregular data collection, etc.
However governments should not have the power to interfere with stuff like research and development, budgets, products, etc. because they are after all private companies.
All in all, both players need to know the rules clearly and follow them to this relationship to work. Read Less

I think that regulations are necessary but I feel like too much government involvement may actually create corruption throughout the tech world.
