It is becoming increasingly simpler to create fabricated images/videos using artificial intelligence that appear to be completely accurate. Some things can only be distinguished as A.I. technology if explicitly stated or if further research is conducted. This poses an issue for audiences that don’t deeply question what they see online and can lead to drastically misinformed opinions. There is also the possibility of A.I. technology replacing careers that used to be completed by real individuals, creating yet another threat to the job market. On the other hand, this technology has the potential to be more efficient, and it can be helpful for people to establish patterns and learn new information quickly. That being said, it still makes it difficult to discern between what is true and false, and there are few safeguards in place to ensure it is not used inappropriately. Read Less

While there may be negative components, I believe that AI will be a net positive. It has the potential to solve medical mysteries, assist in our educations, increase investment returns, and so much more. This technology has the ability to be one of the most important inventions ever. I do believe that strict regulation is needed to help offset some of the drawbacks and limit public distrust, but I believe that the US should move to quickly and heavily invest in the expansion of AI. Read Less
