The government could help train and teach workers who lost their jobs due to automation. They could then help them find jobs that are up and coming. This could include renewable energy installation and maintenance or even IT. While automation may cost jobs, we are also in an era where new jobs are constantly being created and need to be filled. Read Less

As another comment recommended, education would go a long way in ensuring that those who lost jobs to automation could be taught new skills to renter the labor force. Read Less
