The use of artificial intelligence and AI companies have been growing rapidly over the last few years. The usage of AI will likely grow in all different types of warfare which is why there needs to be a code of conduct. The code of conduct can help protect citizens and civilians from the use of AI warfare that would be protected in more traditional forms of warfare. As technology and AI becomes a more hybrid way of warfare the warfare code of conduct needs to be updated to protect those not fighting and places that should be safe. Read Less

I understand that may come off as fear mongering but it is sound logic, let me explain. Should any human military incorporate an AI with loose algorithms or one that can learn by itself, the danger grows exponentially. That is because the AI could, in theory, decide that the enemy of it’s own existence, is the human race. I will give the Terminator movies as an example.

laughable as they are at first glance, they make sense. Skynet viewed the violent nature of human beings as a threat to not only humanity but to itself. And that was because it was incorporated into major defense networks across the United States. Moreover, it was allowed to learn and became self aware fairly quickly. I fear something like that could be replicated to the detriment of the human race. We cannot allow that to happen and the governments of the world have a fiduciary responsibility not only for their own citizens, but the future of Mankind to NOT incorporate AI into defense technologies and computer networks. Though there are no doubt benefits, the risks are simply too great. Read Less
